Today Bajaj Auto launched the 2014 Kawasaki Z1000 in India at ₹ 12.50 lakh (ex-showroom Pune). Kawasaki takes an aggressive approach to increase its presence in Indian Market. In October they launched Ninja ZX 14R and Ninja ZX 10R. Along with Z1000, Kawasaki also launched Ninja 1000 at the same price.
Kawasaki Z1000 is a naked bike that follows aggressive “Sugomi” styling that gives a bike a predatory look. The Z1000 has 1043 cc liquid cooled 16-valve engine with new Cylinder connecting passageways that reduce pumping losses and improve RPM performance. The engine produces 142 PS of power at 10,000 RPM and 111 NM of torque at 7300 RPM. The company added Individual spark plug-mounted ignition coils fire each of the four spark plugs independently to achieve the optimum timing for that cylinder.
Kawasaki also upgraded Cool Air System and Exhaust system to get maximum performance from the Bike.
Kawasaki Z1000 using Aluminum backbone frames which are similar to the Ninja ZX 10R, it helps make the bike narrow and easy to grip with the knees for maximum rider comfort and feedback. The frame is lightweight and highly rigid.
The New Instrumentation in Z1000 has ABS, Economical Riding (ECO) indicators, unique digital speedometer, odometer, dual trip meter, clock, instant and average fuel consumption, coolant temperature, and low-fuel warning lamps.
The Z1000 have 17 liter fuel tank and ABS comes as part of the standard equipment list.
The Bike will be imported to India via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) and will be available at Pune and New Delhi Dealership.
