Hero Splendor iSMART has clocked a superb mileage of 102.50 kmpl, making it the world’s most fuel-efficient bike. The number is based on March 2015 Fuel Efficiency value, certified by the iCAT (International Centre for Automotive Technology). iCAT is a division of the NATRIP Implementation Society (NATIS) of the government of India.
National Automotive Testing and R&D Infrastructure Project (NATRiP), the largest and one of the most significant initiatives in the automotive sector, represents a unique joining of hands between the central government, a number of state governments and the Indian automotive industry to create a state-of-the-art Testing, Validation and R&D infrastructure in the country. It is one of the authorized agencies for testing and certifying fuel efficiency of vehicles under various categories.
Hero Splendor iSmart comes with i3S technology (Idle Stop and Start System). The i3S technology automatically shuts the engine when idling and turns it on, when needed, with a simple press of the clutch, giving more mileage in congested cities. The bike comes with a 100cc air-cooled, 4 Stroke Single Cylinder OHC engine that delivers maximum power of 7.8 PS @ 7500 RPM and maximum torque of 8.04 Nm @ 4500 RPM.
